Manhasset Benefits Trust
The Manhasset Education Association Trust Fund (Fund) was established by the Manhasset Education Association (MEA) as a result of collective bargaining with the Manhasset School District to provide supplemental benefits to employees of the District represented by the MEA. The Fund originally provided dental and life insurance benefits, but over time, the benefits have been expanded to include vision, hearing, legal services and financial counseling . The Fund is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Executive Board of the MEA. Claims for benefit are processed by the Fund’s third-party administrator/consultant, Daniel H. Cook Associates, Inc. The Fund’s benefits and administrative expenses are funded exclusively by collectively bargaining contributions from the District. No union dues are used to pay for the Fund’s expenses. The Trustees, working with Cook Associates and the Fund’s team of benefits providers, are committed to maximizing the benefits for the covered membership.
